The Kapoor khandaan is one of India’s most iconic and longest-serving dynasties in Bollywood. From Shammi Kapoor to Ranbir Kapoor, the grand dynasty of actors has brought joy to millions through their films. But it’s not just the big names we know that make up the Kapoor family tree–there are many other members who are lesser known, but equally as talented. In this article, we will explore some of these less popular members and learn more about their respective journeys in the entertainment industry.

Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor is one of the lesser known members of the Kapoor khandaan, but he is no less talented. A gifted actor, Ranbir has starred in some of Bollywood’s most successful films, including ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Barfi!’.

Born into a family of actors, Ranbir always knew he wanted to be an actor. After completing his studies, he assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the sets of ‘Black’, before making his acting debut with ‘Saawariya’. The film was not well-received, but Ranbir’s performance was praised.

Since then, there has been no looking back for Ranbir. He has gone on to star in some of Bollywood’s biggest hits, and has even won several awards for his performances.

Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor is the daughter of actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita, and the younger sister of actress Karisma Kapoor. She made her acting debut in 2000 with the film Refugee, for which she won a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Kareena has since appeared in several hit films such as Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… (2001), Omkara (2006), Jab We Met (2007), 3 Idiots (2009) and Bodyguard (2011). Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan is the son of actress Sharmila Tagore and cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. He made his acting debut in Yash Chopra’s blockbuster film Parampara (1993), but he received critical acclaim for his performance in Dil Chahta Hai (2001). Saif has since starred in a number of successful films, including Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Parineeta (2005), Salam Namaste (2005), Race (2008) and Love Aaj Kal (2009). He is also a recipient of the National Film Award and Filmfare Award.

Karisma Kapoor

Karisma Kapoor is the younger daughter of actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita, and the younger sister of actress Kareena Kapoor. She made her acting debut at age seventeen with Prem Rog (1992), and received critical acclaim for her performances in films such as Jigyaasa (2006) and Life in a… Metro (2007). The latter earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Kapoor married industrialist Sanjay Kapur in 2003, with whom she has two children. She divorced Kapur in 2016.

Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh is the son of Delhi-based businessman Ajit Singh Bhavnani and his wife Anju. He has an elder sister, Ritika. Ranveer was educated at Mayo College in Ajmer and Hiranandani Foundation School in Mumbai. After which he briefly worked with a management consultant firm. He then studied at Indiana University Bloomington, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Ranveer made his acting debut in 2010 with a supporting role in the film Band Baaja Baaraat. The film proved to be a commercial success, earning him a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He followed it with successful films like Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011), Lootera (2013) and Ram-Leela (2013). For the latter, he earned his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor.

In 2015, Ranveer starred in the action thriller Dil Dhadakne Do and the biographical sports drama Bajirao Mastani, both of which rank among his highest-grossing films. His performance in the latter earned him critical acclaim as well as several awards, including another Filmfare Award for Best Actor.

Some of Ranveer’s other notable films include Padmaavat (2018), Gully Boy (2019) and Simmba (2019). He has also appeared in several commercials and music videos.
